UGC exports 660,000 tns of wheat to Egypt since Jul 1, 2019

MOSCOW, Jan 22 (PRIME) -- United Grain Company (UGC) has signed export contracts for 660,000 tonnes of Russian wheat to Egypt in the current agricultural year that started on July 1, 2019, UGC said in a statement on Wednesday.

“JSC United Grain Company has become the winner of a new tender of GASC (General Authority For Supply Commodities) for the delivery of 60,000 tonnes of wheat. Grain Export SA, a part of UGC group, participated in the tender. In total, the company has contracted exports of 660,000 tonnes of Russian wheat to the Egyptian market since the beginning of its participation in the tenders,” the company said.

In total, GASC contracted 5 million tonnes of grain since July 1, 2019 through Tuesday, of which Russian wheat accounts for 2.8 million tonnes, Ukrainian wheat for 1 million tonnes, Romanian wheat for 0.7 million tonnes, and French wheat for 0.5 million tonnes, the company said.

UGC exported 1.4 million tonnes of grain since July 1, 2019, up from 1 million tonnes in the same period of the previous agricultural year. The company plans to export 0.8–1 million tonnes of grain until the agricultural year ends on June 30, 2020.
